Dental Implants

Dental implants are taking the dental industry by storm!

In recent years, more and more people have chosen to have dental implants. We have a great deal of experience in fitting dental implants and are delighted to offer our clients this innovative treatment.

We are members of the Association for Dental Implantology and the International Team for Implantology

Dental implants are a sophisticated and innovative long-term solution to missing teeth and are fast becoming the most popular means of replacing damaged teeth and fillings gaps in the smile. Dental implants offer a more functional, durable alternative to dental bridges and dentures. Their biggest advantage is that the nearby teeth which are still healthy do not need to be aggressively prepared down to secure conventional bridges in place.

Dental implants are fine titanium rods, which are placed in the jaw bone. Once the implant has settled, a new crown can be attached and the new tooth will function in exactly the same way as a natural tooth. Implants can be used for other restorations as bridges and dentures to replace more than one missing tooth. Here at Pure Dental Solutions we use exclusively Straumann products which are one of the longest established implant firms. They have proven to be very successful with long term , evidence based results.
  • Dental implants function in exactly the same way as natural teeth.
  • Implants look like natural teeth.
  • Implants provide anchorage for dentures, crowns and bridges; this makes the restorations more stable and improves their performance.
  • Dental implants prevent bone loss, which helps to preserve the facial characteristics.
  • Dental implants are a long-term solution. If cared for properly they can last a lifetime.
  • Healthy teeth will not be damaged or affected by dental implants.
  • Dentures anchored by implants do not affect speech.

Teeth Whitening

The most important thing you wear is your smile. Stained, discoloured teeth can leave you feeling unattractive and lead to low self-esteem. At Pure Dental Solutions, we are delighted to offer our clients whitening products from one of the market leaders in the field. Teeth whitening is an established and safe way to change the colour of your teeth. Tooth whitening will change the colour of natural teeth but it will not change the colour of existing fillings or porcelain restorations.

The lightening agent releases oxygen free radicals that can remove the stain molecules in the teeth.Custom fitting soft whitening trays are made into which the whitening gel is placed.Different concentrations of gel can be used in different circumstances and the dentist will prescribe the concentration that he or she feels most appropriate. Typically the trays are worn over a 2-3 week period. Home whitening is most long term, evidence based way of whitening with proven succes.

Only safe materials to use are properly formulated and carefully applied products with properly researched ingredients. These can only legally be supplied by a dentist or dental hygienist, so avoid beauty salons and internet products. When following your dentist’s instructions, there is no damage whatsoever to your teeth or gums.

According to the recent studies your teeth will be always whiter than before after the full initial course of whitening, but depending on your lifestyle (tea, coffee, curry, etc.) you might need to top-up every 6-24 months , which involves only a short term application (3-4 times).

During the process some patients experience minor sensitivity or irritation but this is short term and always disappears after treatment is completed. The systems that we use have desensitising agent in their formula and this completely removes or decreases significantly the possible sensitivity.

Invisalign

Invisalign is a fast and easy way of achieving your dream smile!

Invisalign GO is type of Invisalign treatment that moves your teeth from premolar to premolar only. This is a fast and easy way of achieving your dream smile. It works in a way of wearing a sequence clear aligners (thin, transparent , plastic trays) that fit tightly around your teeth, for 1-2 weeks each. There are no metal wires or braces attached on the teeth. Usually the treatment is applied on both upper and lower teeth as moving only one of the arches could cause future problems with the way you bite down and function.

Depending on your initial situation and your treatment goals, it could be anything between 3 months up to 2 years.

Yes, for successful treatment outcome you need to wear the aligners for 20-22 hours per day. You can take them off for eating and cleaning. You can take them off for a special occasion or a night out, but ideally they need to be worn at all other times.

Overall yes, as long as you have teeth in your mouth. There may be certain limitation factors in some cases, like implants, bridges, teeth with poor prognosis, gum disease, etc. That is why it is very important that you have full initial consultation and required xrays.

Veneers

Dental veneers are the cosmetic dental treatment choice for those who want to improve the aesthetics of their smile quickly and efficiently. We work closely with a superb Dental Technician who is able to produce unbelievably lifelike, beautiful veneers and transform your smile.

Dental veneers act as thin ‘shells’ that are placed over teeth, and are proven to vastly improve the appearance of a smile. This is a popular treatment choice at our clinic, as being an excellent alternative to other treatments such as braces or more major treatments such as crowns.

Everyone can have veneers as long as you have enough tooth structure left to retian the veneer onto. Veneers are ideal for those with crooked teeth, chipped teeth, discoloured teeth, tooth gaps (as bullet points as at the moment).

The dentist will firstly need to assess whether you are suitable for treatment. If you are, then treatment will typically involve the following steps:

  1. A mild anaesthetic is issued to ensure you feel no discomfort.
  2. Veneers require preparation of the teeth, which means that your teeth may need to be ‘shaved down’ so the veneer can be placed perfectly on your teeth.
  3. The veneers are cemented in place and polished to make them shine.

Treatment time will vary depending on how many veneers are needed.

Dental veneers often come in two different materials:

  1. Porcelain – The more expensive material of the two, but also the longer lasting and aesthetically pleasing. Porcelain is a strong, durable material and has been proved to be reliable, as long as you take proper care of your teeth.
  2. Composite resin – Ideally this material is used to fix small chips and not as long lasting as porcelain veneers. However, this form of veneer is cheaper and can last a long time if you take care of your teeth, but they don’t have the aesthetic appeal of porcelain veneers.

Cosmetic Teeth Bonding

Cosmetic bonding is a safe, effective, non-invasive cosmetic treatment, which aims to improve the overall appearance of the smile. Cosmetic bonding is an ideal treatment for patients with chipped teeth and irregularly shaped teeth.

The procedure involves applying a tooth-coloured dental composite material to the teeth. Then we sculpt the composite to create an attractive aesthetic.

Composite bonding could last for numerous years with good maintenance, which includes very good oral higiene and regular re-polishing. The material may start to get some staining lines with time and it may need repairs and re-freshing. The staining also depends on the consumptions of colouring drinks and food (tea, coffee, red wine, curry, etc.)

No, it usually involves one appointment for the completion of the procedure. You will have local anaesthetic to ensure minimal discomfort during the treatment.

No, composite bonding is one of the most minimally envasive procedures in cosmetic dentistry as it mainly involves adding material to your teeth, rather than removing any tooth tissue.

Starts from £180 per tooth, depending on the case.
