Dear Patients and Friends of Pure Dental,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health.
We really appreciate your help and support with filling up our survey. The response was really positive and supportive and we do appreciate your views. Your comments have been really helpful for planning our workflow for the future.
You may have heard that dental practices can open to routine care from Monday 8 June.
Our practice will be opening on that day (8th June, Monday) but we just wanted to be clear that this may not be business as usual. The treatments you are offered may be different to those you received before, depending on staff and equipment available. It will take some time before services return to what you previously experienced as normal. Please be patient.
If you have an appointment with us from 8th June onwards, please, do not call the practice as we will get in touch and confirm or re-schedule that appointment, depending on the risk assessment that we perform for you. You will be notified as soon as possible. We will try to accommodate everyone and make sure that we catch up for all those missed appointment in the last 2 and a half months by extending our working hours and possible Saturdays too.
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our surgery. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.
Our practice follows infection control guidelines made by the governing bodies. We are up-to-date on new guidance that has been issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to recommendations.
You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
- Our practice will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You will be asked to fill up your medical history form remotely on an online platform- you will receive a text message with a link
- You will be asked to wait for your appointment in your car on our enclosed, free car park. If this is not possible, there will be a limit to 1 patient in the waiting room at any time
- You will have your temperature measured at entering the practice
- You will be asked to wash your hands prior to entering the surgery
- We have hand sanitiser that we will ask you to use as required
- There will be ONE-WAY system in place
- We no longer offer magazines and leaflets, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect
- Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your We will have dedicated slots for vulnerable patients.
- You will be asked to make a payment over the phone or online on a platform (this is still in a process of development)
We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
How you can help:
- With the exception of children and patients with carers, patients should come alone
- A distance of at least 2 metres mush be observed if another patient is present in the dental practice
- Payment should be made by card only
- Staff will not shake your hand
- If you show Covid-19 symptoms following appointment booking, you should contact the practice by phone
- Please do not arrive without an appointment
We understand that there will be a lot of questions and we are in a process of recoding a video to show you the new patient journey. We will put this online so you can have a look before your appointment.
We appreciate your ongoing support
Thank you very much and hope to see you soon!
Teddy, David and the whole team at Pure Dental Solutions
The announcement of the Prime Minister on Sunday (10/05/2020) stated that some business can go back to work if they can’t work from home.
Although we fall into that criteria, we still need to wait for an official statement from our regulatory bodies (GDC, CQC, Public Health England) before we can re-open the practice.
Unfortunately at this stage we are still temporarily closed and will inform you as soon as we have more information about the matter.
Stay safe and keep smiling!
Pure Dental Solutions
We hope that everyone is in good health and spirit.
We wanted to introduce you with the opportunity to explore our online consultation service during the lock-down period.
Please, click here for more information.
Dear patients and friends of Pure Dental,
From 30th March 2020 (Monday), the practice will not be able to accept patients on our premises. This measure is necessary to be enforced due to the latest Government guidelines about operation in primary dental care settings.
Although we are temporarily closed for patients, we are still here for you online and over the phone for urgent or general advice and consultation. We are all working very hard to keep our service up to the usual standard with online access, helplines and emergency care where needed.
Our usual phone number will be still operational, so if you need any advice or help, please call our usual number 01785 213333.
Pure Dental has been built on the basis of trust and support from our patients and we have always made sure that we deliver high quality dentistry in a friendly environment. We will ensure that we constantly communicate with you in these times of uncertainty and we will do everything we can to support everyone who needs us.
Thank you very much for the understanding.
Stay safe and stay positive!
Teddy, David and all the team in Pure Dental Solutions.
Dear patients and friends of Pure Dental,
In these unprecedented times, the team in our practice, like everyone in the world find it really difficult to continue to operate as normal.
We have taken any precautionary measure and followed all the advice available to us to help limit the spread of coronavirus.
Since our last update, there was a new publication from our regulatory body, stating that we WILL BE EXTREMELY LIMITED IN ACCEPTING ANY PATIENTS IN OUR PREMISES. We could only see patients with a severe emergency (prolonged and uncontrolled toothache, swelling , uncontrolled bleeding, etc.) This comes after the recent statement from the Prime Minister that we all need to exercise ‘social distancing’ and ‘stay at home’ as much as possible.
Our main aim is and has always been to protect and deliver high quality care for our patients. In this situation, we need to make sure that by all means we protect our staff, our patients and their families and of course the public as a whole. In that regard, we completely agree and will follow the newly published guidance for our profession. It is not easy to close for services that we always provide with so much passion and professionalism, but we do this with the clear mind that it is in everyone’s best interest and that is the right thing to do now.
We are still here for you to provide emergency advice over the phone. If you have a dental emergency (pain, broken tooth, etc.) we will be able to give the appropriate advice and treatment if really necessary.
The expectation is that soon we will not be able to see anyone in the practice whatsoever. For that reason, the government is setting up Urgent Dental Centre’s (UDCs) soon and once this happens you will be diverted to the nearest UDC , where you will be triaged for further care. We will keep you updated on this matter accordingly
You can call us on our usual number 01785 213333 from 9am to 6pm every working day (Monday to Friday) and you will be advised on further action.
If you need to call outside these hours or at the weekend, our ‘out of hours’ service will be still available as usual and the number for that is 07731 107470. This service operates between 6pm and 10pm on weekdays and 10am- 6pm on weekends and bank holidays. Private call out charges apply.
For all the patients who have appointments booked in with us in the next few weeks – you don’t need to call us. Your appointments are not lost, they are only temporarily postponed. We will give priority to our membership patients, once life goes back to normal, to re-book their appointments as soon as possible. We will make sure that no one has been missed and all appointments that were scheduled for the closure period, have been immediately rebooked and all treatments delivered as initially planned. Depending on the work load, we will extend working hours and open extra working days (Saturdays) as required in the future.
We understand how difficult and frustrating this is for everyone, but if we stick together and follow the government’s advice, we can overcome this sooner than later.
We are also going to be available for any kind of consultation online through a platform of your choice (Facebook, Instagram, Skype, WhatsApp, etc.). If you need urgent or just a routine consultation for any treatments available, please get in touch.
You can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or message us on Facebook to arrange an appointment for an online consultation.
Teddy, David and the whole team in Pure Dental Solutions really appreciate your continuous support and trust. We will be back soon!
Stay safe and keep your head up!
To all Patients and Friends of Pure Dental Solutions,
Our team have been working tirelessly to keep Pure Dental a clean and safe environment for you.
As a Dental Practice, we work in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything we do. Historically Pure Dental has always been well ahead of the normal standards of infection control. In addition to our usual scrupulous cross infection control measures, we have been paying particularly close attention to all government guidance and updates related more specifically to Coronavirus.
Given the unprecedented situation in the UK regarding the rapidly spreading COVID-19 virus, we feel we must use our own clinical judgement and act in the best interests of our patients and staff.
We feel it is essential that we do our part to reduce the spread of this virus, and so, it is with very heavy hearts, that we have taken to decision to temporarily close the practice. We aim to reopen as soon as it is safe and sensible to do so and will, of course, keep you updated with the latest information on our website www.puredentalsolutions.co.uk
Looking after the health of our patients is our absolute priority and so we will be operating an Emergency Telephone Consultation service for our patients who have urgent pain or swelling during this period of closure. One of the benefits of being a Pure Dental patient is that, during working hours, you will always get through to someone who knows you personally and has a good knowledge of your dental care.
If you urgently need assistance, please us on 01785 213333 and follow the instructions on the recorded message. We will be answering the phones between 8.30 am and 11am Monday to Friday and will be able to offer emergency care to those of you in serious need of assistance until 1pm each day. You can get in touch with us after this time over email (email@example.com) or message us on Facebook or Instagram. We will try to offer you an online or over the phone advice, where possible.
As a team, we are doing everything we possibly can to remain fit, well and able to work so that we can continue our usual high standard of dental care when we return.
Teddy, David and our whole team sincerely thank you for your support at this difficult time and wish you health and happiness in the coming weeks.
This is an update to our latest statement regarding the measures that we need to take towards limiting the spread of COVID-19.
According to the most recent regulatory letter for the dental profession (issued today, 20th March, Friday), we need to implement some more strict rules and restriction to our daily practice:
- We cannot offer appointments to anyone who has had any covid-19 related symptoms in the last 14 days or anyone in their household either. If patients fall into this category their appointments will be cancelled and re-scheduled for a later date. If any of those patients are in pain and have dental emergency, they will need to call the NHS helpline 111 and will be diverted to the nearest dental emergency centre, set up to work with covid-19 suspicious cases.
- We will need to postpone any routine examination appointments for patients that are classified as vulnerable- patients over 70 years old, pregnant women and patients with underlying medical conditions
- We will be very limited to what we can perform as treatment, as all aerosol generating procedures should be avoided and limited to minimum. This means that all routing treatments like fillings, crown, root canal treatments, etc. should be postponed unless the patient is in pain. This will cause numerous cancellations for our patients and we really apologise for this.
- We are still providing treatments for non-symptomatic patients that do not require aerosol generating procedure, unless urgent
- We will see every emergency as long as they and everyone in their household are symptom-free (for covid-19) for the last 14 days
Our aim is and always has been to deliver the best possible care for our patients and everyone at Pure Dental Solutions feel really distressed about these recently brought limitations, but at the same time we fully realise that this is in the best interest of the public and ourselves.
The wellbeing of our staff and our patients is a paramount and we will follow any necessary guidelines and take any possible measures to help with the limitation of spreading the dreadful virus!
Every patient who had their appointments cancelled due to the above statement will be contacted and rebooked as soon as we go back to normal operational mode. Your appointments are not lost and they will be delivered with the same quality and expertise once we are allowed to do so.
You can contact at any point for advice or consultation over the phone if you are self-isolating. You can reach as on Facebook and Instagram too.
In this situation is important to stay positive and keep good overall health and especially oral hygiene. Make sure you brush your teeth regularly and use antiseptic mouthwash. Try to follow the advice that you were given on your last hygiene appointment and don’t forget that good and healthy eating is always helpful and good for your spirit too.
We will overcome this together and we are always here to help if you need us.
Thank you very much for your continuous trust and support!
This space will be regularly updated, so keep an eye on it.
The team in Pure Dental Solutions
In these hard times of unpredictability, we would like to reassure you that the whole team in Pure Dental Solutions is taking all necessary precautionary measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.
We have always taken extra care in our cross infection and cleanliness protocols to make sure that we protect ourselves and our valued patients. We are strictly following the new guidance and regulations, issued from the Department of Health and General Dental Council to secure the safest possible way of everyday practice.
Due to the current outbreak situation, we have implemented some new rules and cleaning protocols for staff and patients while on the practice’s premises. We are performing deep clean of the common areas (waiting room, toilet, hallway, etc.) every day and we have ample supply of sanitising hand gel available in the waiting area. We would urge everyone to wash their hands thoroughly when entering the practice.
We will try to limit the contact between patients in the waiting room to minimum with some new procedures, which you will be informed about prior to your visit.
As we are always thriving to give the highest possible care to our patients, we would appreciate if anyone with COVID-19 symptoms would inform us prior to a visit to the practice, so we can evaluate further action.
In case of emergency, you can as usual, call us and we will triage your case according to the latest government guidelines.
You can find more information and daily updates about the government’s response here:
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we will be able to advise you.
We appreciate your understanding and continuous support!
Thank you very much
